Content:
Rock, fossil, and mineral collection of mostly British and European origin with little if any local material amongst it. Of historical interest, it contains many specimens collected during the last century. Amongst these are fragmentary reptile remains (icthyosaur,pliosaur, and other reptiles), Old Red Sandstone fish from Scotland, and palaeoniscid fish from the basal Permian of Germany. There are also some historically interesting Coal Measures plants. The collection has suffered poor storage conditions in the past.
