(English Heritage) This booklet explains the causes of the Civil war, what life was like for the ordinary soldier, and where the main battles took place. Illustrated with scenes of everyday life, it also has a map and quiz. ED 33 + LIVING HISTORY: RECONSTRUCTING THE PAST WITH CHILDREN / JOHN FAIRCLOUGH & PATRICK REDSELL. (English Heritage). A book on drama and role-play details events at Hevendingham Hall and Oxford Castle in Suffolk, and explains how schools might carry out their own projects. Written by a group of experts, this book represents a number of case studies and ideas to help teachers introduce archaeology onto their curriculum work. ED 35 THE HISTORY PACK - TEACHER’S GUIDE This project draws on material from the National Army Museum archive in London for use in the classroom. Although some sources are extracts, all are taken from original materials and very few have been available to schools in the past.
