to provide children with outstanding educational experiences. Two programmes,
shot around Britain, show excellent examples of this work in practice
- one focusing on primary schools, the other on secondary. Projects for
primary children always involve active learning. Work for secondary pupils
is more concerned with museum collections and practical problem solving.
Both programmes demonstrate the importance of preparation and follow-up
work.

VID 11 KEEPING UP WITH THE PAST: Making Historic Buildings Accessible
to Everyone (English Heritage / Centre for Accessible Environments, 1997)
With the advent of the National Lottery and the Disability Discrimination
Act 1995, accessibility is the hot potato of conservation and this video
focuses on the importance of full understanding, early consultation and
good design in the management of change and inevitable alteration. It
intends to increase awareness and to aid access groups, conservation officers
and design professionals to improve access for disabled people to historic
properties.
