Summer Fun in Surrey Museums & Galleries

Woohoo, the summer holiday is here! If you are looking for great days out with your family, then why not visit one of our fantastic museums or galleries and get involved with hands-on workshops, activites or events - or for something different, take part in our Surrey Museums i-spy challenge for the chance to win a super prize in the autumn.

We run the i-spy challenge every year from April to September, with a different trail theme each year. This year's is all about Surrey Super Women, highlighting just some of the many women who have helped to shape the county's history through their incredible work, achievement, invention, courage and ambition. You will discover events, exhibitions and activities related to Surrey Women throughout the year – as well as many other events and activities for all ages and interests.

Surrey Super Women i-spy challenge

Who are the great women who have helped shape Surrey’s history?

From 1st April to 1st September 2017, 16 of Surrey’s museums and galleries are in the i-spy challenge with something linked to one of Surrey's Super Women hidden among their displays and exhibitions.

All you have to do is visit as many of the 16 museums as you can to find objects in the trail. The family who has spotted the most objects will win a prize!

                1. Visit a museum on the i-spy page and pick up your leaflet from reception.

                2. Spot the object from the photograph somewhere in the museum displays.

                3. Jot down where it was hidden in the displays, or an interesting fact about it.

                4. Collect a Surrey Museums Month sticker from a member of museum staff.

                5. Move on to the next museum or gallery!

Error: Please note that number 17 on the i-spy page should say 19 - the object is at Guildford MUSEUM, not Guildford Cathedral.

What next?

Send in your stickered leaflet or a photocopy of your i-spy page BY 8th SEPTEMBER 2017 to:

H. Thomas, Museums Officer, Surrey History Centre, 130 Goldsworth Road, Woking GU21 6ND.

*** REALLY IMPORTANT… PLEASE remember to write your family name and a contact email or phone number so that we can get in touch with you. Thank you. We will contact you by 30th September! ***
